Description
Pau D'arco is a large flowering tree native to the amazon rainforest and tropical south america. It is popular amongst loggers for its wood is of high quality however it's use by indigenous peoples as a herbal medicine goes back centuries, possibly even pre-dating the Inca's. Pau Darco has been employed by tribal peoples of the Amazon for a great number of ailments, topically as an anti fungal but also used in a decoction for maleria, anemia, colitis, respiratory problems, cold, cough, flu, fungal infections, fever, arthritis, rheumatism, snakebite, boils, poor circulation, syphilis and cancer. It's anti - cancerous properties have been observed in varying degree's in western medicine, more research is needed.
