Description
The active Constituent of Anadenanthera colubrina (or Cebil/vilca) is DMT and 5-MeO-DMT amongst other related compounds.
It is a member of the bean family, Leguminosae. The seeds from the plants is used for a snuff. The seeds from the plant is roasted, pulverized and mixed with the ashes or calcined shells, to make the snuff called Cebil/vilca ( different tribes from differing geographical locations used different names ). This mix is then put into a bamboo tube and blown into the experiencers nose. The seeds will take effect almost immediatly. Other ways that have been reported, have been of chewing the leaves of the plant, but since the Indian cultures using the plant like that have disappeared the knowledge of their use of the plant is limited.
The tree grows in open plain areas, and contains DMT, and 5-MeO-DMT in its barks, seeds and leaves.
