Description
Mimosa Hostilis (Jurema) is a DMT containing plant, the DMT is stored in the root barks of the plant. The plant has been used by tribes in Brazil for centuries, but the first original tribes to have been using it, are now extinct. There are small spread out mixtures of tribes around South America, including both black and whites, but these people have now lost their ancestral homes because they lost their legal identity as "Indians" (caboclos). To revive this ancient tradition the Jurema cult ( O Culto da Jurema) was established. The rituals of Jurema is very similar to the rituals of Ayahuasca rituals of the Amazon Forest. But in the rituals of Jurema, these Indians also drink alcohol to induce trance states. Alcohol now being the only substance available to enhance their rituals.
